FAQ- Dog Grooming

How often should I get my dog groomed?

Your dog's Ideal grooming schedule varies depending on coat type, lifestyle, desired haircut length and at home maintenance. Most commonly we like to see our furry friends every 4-6 weeks whether it is for a Full Groom or Mini Groom. This allows for proper maintenance of the skin, coat, ears and nails.

How long does it take to get my dog groomed?

We typically ask for between 1 and 4 hours to complete a grooming service depending on size, temperament and coat condition. If you need your pet done within a certain time frame, please let us know when you make the appointment so we can make those accomodations.

What does nail grinding do?

After clipping the nails, a rotary tool with a sanding drum is used to carefully file the nail down. This helps get the nails shorter and softens any sharp edges.

What age should my puppy have their first grooming appointment?

As early as possible! The first few months of a puppy's life are crucial for socialization. During this time, they are more receptive to new experiences.

We typically recommend keeping their first grooming experience minimal, and only starting with the basics. A "Puppy Intro Groom" usually includes a bath, blow-dry, brushout, nails, ear cleaning and trimming of the face, feet and privates.

Starting them off this way helps your puppy learn that grooming is a normal, non-threatening part of their routine and sets them up for a lifetime of stress-free grooming experiences!

Does my dog go out into Daycare when they are done being groomed?

For the safety of all animals in our care, dogs are placed in a clean kennel or run with a blanket when they are done with their grooming session.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated to get groomed?

Yes, we require that all dogs in the salon are up to date on their Rabies vaccine as it is State Law and a health/safety risk to our employees.

It is recommended that your dog be up to date on Bordatella and DHLPP as there is risk of contracting various illnesses/diseases when around other dogs.

We understand that not every pet is medically able to receive these vaccines. If this is the case for your pup, we highly recommend taking advantage of our Mobile Grooming services.

Do my dog's anal glands need to be expressed?

MOST dogs have the muscle mass needed to express them on their own when they go to the bathroom. Older or heavier dogs may lack the ability to do so and will need to have them done professionally. Scooting or licking at their "rear" may be a sign that they are full and causing discomfort.

FAQ- Cat Grooming

How long does it take to get my Cat groomed?

We typically ask for 1 to 4 hours depending on what your cat is getting done. For just a haircut or brushout service we usually shoot for right around an hour.  For any bath services we ask for up to 4 hours to allow enough drying time.

How often should I get my cat groomed?

Generally this depends on how much at-home maintenance you plan on doing. With the right tools and frequency, your cat may not need professional grooming. However, if you notice your cat is frequently getting matted or has overgrown nails, we can help!

Does my Cat need to be vaccinated to get groomed?

Yes, we require that all Cats are up to date on their Rabies vaccine as it is State Law and a health/safety risk to our employees.

It is recommended that your Cat be up to date on FVRCP as there is risk of contracting various illnesses/diseases when around other animals.

FAQ- Mobile Grooming

Nope! Our Mobile Grooming unit is fully equipped with its own water tank and battery.

What vaccinations does my pet need?

For mobile grooming services we require proof of a current Rabies vaccine for the safety of our staff, your pets and because it is state law.
